Visits & Workshops
We are a dynamic author-illustrator team with 10+ years’ experience working with students in the classroom. Our assemblies explore the collaborative and technological elements of creating a book. We take the students on the exciting journey of how we made our dream book a published reality.
Our fun, interactive Power Point presentations get the kids thinking about where ideas originate and how you can grow those ideas into something bigger. We emphasize the importance of research, revision and collaboration. We go through the steps of getting a book published, and how that path can be both traditional and untraditional, i.e. digital books and self-publishing, then end with a quick Q&A session with the students.
We also offer workshops and author/illustrator visits focused on emotions and coping skills. We will read our books and lead students through one of the art activities featured on this website, or design an activity to fit the needs of your students. If your school or community has experienced a traumatic event, we would like to help.
We’ve tailored our assembly presentations to be appropriate in content and length for grades K-1, 2-3 and 4-6.
We do not charge travel fees for schools within a 20-mile radius of Sherman Oaks, CA. Travel fees may apply for visits to schools outside of the Los Angeles area. We are always willing to work with schools to make our visits as cost-effective as possible. Please contact us if you would like us to create an author/illustrator visit to meet your school's needs and budget.
